"THE JOE TINOCO STORY" BELOW
Joe Tinoco will simply take your breath away.I'm not one to compare one artist to another, but if I had to chose
an example, I would have to say Joe is right up there with Wade Hayes
in style, tone, talent and yes, even demeanor. Joe is a humble, down to
earth, true gentleman. His smile is infectious and his sense of humor
matches his sense of honor. In a nutshell, At the ripe old age of 27, Joe Tinoco had accomplished more than
most can imagine. Joe began performing in grade school and by the time
he was in his junior year at Olathe North High School, in Olathe,
Kansas, he was being booked as a singer, impressionist, model, actor,
television and stage personality. At 19 Joe won a scholarship that
got him the honor of spending some time being trained by Jan French,
star of West Side Story, Jan was at that time the director of Ohio
State College. Joe didn't settle for this as having accomplished enough. He spent
the year 89' singing and dancing at Worlds Of Fun/Tivoli Hall at the
same time opening for the Nashville super stars on weekends. 1990
(during Olathe's Historic Old Settlers Days) he had a home town
concert. Joe's name drew 5000 screaming fans. (The next year he was
called back by public demand). He went on to win several major dance
contests and still takes first prize today with his wife, Tamra Deonne
Tinoco.Joe played the part of a young
defendant in the movie Mr. and Mrs. Bridge starring Paul Newman and
Joanne Woodward. Joe said of the movie, "I enjoyed working with Paul
Newman. His first question to me was, 'What is there to do in Kansas
City?'" Joe obviously didn't have a problem finding things to occupy
his time! Joe also played a role in Stephan King's thriller "Sometimes
They Come Back" as well as the film, "Kansas City". This was in 91 the
year he also graduated from John Casablanca's Modeling School and
attended drama classes at UMKC while modeling for all Kansas City
Department Stores and participating in off Broadway shows Bye Bye
Birdie at Penn Valley College in KCMO, and Barnum’s Greatest Show on
Earth. . So what about Joe the singer/songwriter? Funny you should ask!
Shelly Wright’s father Stan Wright and his Opry House Fans took Joe to
Branson, Mo. And entered Joe into a Tony James' "That's Show Biz
Contest". Joe won 1st place and two days later, he was hired for the
opening act for Cristy Lane by award winning producer Chisai Childs.
Joe spent 4 years in Branson, MO. Opening for stars such as Ferlin
Husky, Ray Price, Chubby Checkers, and The Platters. . Since 1988 Joe
has opened shows for Clint Black, Johnny Rodriquez, Lorrie Morgan,
Larry Boone, Ronnie McDowell, Jerry Reed, Freddy Fender, Vern Gosdin,
Skip Ewing, Michael Twitty, Barbara Fairchild, Cristy Lane, Dan Seals,
Marty Haggard, Mel McDaniel, Freddy Hart, Stonewall Jackson, Melba
Montgomery, Jeannie Seely, John Conlee, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, The
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ray Price, Connie Smith, Justin Tubb and Marvin
Rainwater....just to mention a few! His favorite opening act was for
Ronnie McDowell. Joe opened several times for Ronnie and Ronnie once
told him, "One of these days I'll see you on the Country Music Academy
awards show." Ronnie's well deserved praise served to motivate Joe even
more. Soon Joe was touring with Matt Davenport productions a USA Road
tour performing coast to coast 50 states. (Actually touring was nothing
new to Joe since Joe spent his early summer teen year touring the
Midwest with Tuffy Williams of KC Opry. They toured behind stars such as Babrara Fairchild and Marvin Rainwater as openers for these stars.) Upon returning from Tour to Branson, Joe was called to Nashville
by Opryland to appear in the production, "I Hear America Singing" and
that move led Joe to being asked to sing on the Grand Ole Opry! Joe
wore many hats in Nashville aside from his Stetson. He performed
several times at the Nashville Palace "Where the Stars are Born" in
1992 where he also worked as a bus-boy. He appeared in IFCO FAN FAIR
show cases in '90, '92, "94 and '96 and did a benefit at the Hall Of
Fame In Nashville in 1993. 1996 he signed with Disney where he
performed six months on Disney Magic Cruise Ship, "his own country
music and rock and roll show. All the way to Italy and back) Joe has
also been called (pending funding} for a starring role in movie, "The
Sonoran Ghost". The movie is based on the true story of a legendary
Spanish hero. The last ten years Joe bought a home in Nashville where he spent his
days back in 1998 and 2000 working at Opryland, singing at Opryland
hotel on weekends while finding time to teach line dance and ballroom
at The Nashville Classic Dance Studio. He has knocked on Nashville
doors daily and made many positive advances. He spent time with Nashville record producers at which time he
recorded two cd's and soon had and offer to come in and visit with Sony
songwriters about the potential of joining with them to work on his
songwriting skills . Which most generally leads to writing exclusively
for Sony Publishing Company. At that same time Branson was calling him
back fron Nashville, offering him his own show to be filmed for TV.
With some encouragement and coaching from friends and family he
accepted, moved back to Branson with big hopes, but not before Dolly
Parton spotted him and cast him in a credited part in her movie "Blue
Valley Sing Bird" where he played Dolly’s Birthday Party Guy. Since that time he accepted the Branson offer and now his own shows
have been award winning and they were accepted by RDFTV at which time
they were featured daily for one whole year on RDFTV, which only added
to his already many fans. Now this year Joe will be taking his show production "Magnificent
Seven" from The White House Theatre" and whole cast of award winning
performers to the Osmond Family Theatre where the featured Magnificent
Variety Production will relocate. Talent and energy like this just can't fail!
